Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Imagine going to the skating rink after not skating for a few decades (yep haven’t skated since those skates that used keys to adjust to size. Remember those? Smiles.) Sometimes we forget that we already learned certain things and all we need is to remember to strengthen those muscles to do it again.
There is a song by Martina MacBride entitled “A Broken Wing.” The words to the chorus say “And with a broken wing she still sings, she keeps an eye over the sky with a broken wing she carries her dreams. Man you oughta see her fly.”
A broken or injured wing can sometimes be deceptive. It sometimes leave you believing that you can no longer fly. Today’s verse reminds us but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I encourage you to remember, you already know how to fly. Fly high...Soar on wings like eagles.
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder to fly high. That those who hope in you will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I pray that all your children remember that those who hope in you, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen!
