Colossians 3:12 (NIV)- Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
When confronted with the decision to be right or kind which do you choose? Being right gives a feeling of satisfaction. Keeping things real, it feels good to say “I told you so.” What do we gain from being right... to wear the badge of honor of the ego being stroked, “I am right and you were wrong”? It seems proven right or wrong has overshadowed being kind.
Imagine choosing being kind over being right, opting to operate from the heart (from a place of love) in everything you do. To simply release all judgement and choose love and kindness every time. To fix your heart condition by deleting your ego from your decision making.
Proverbs 3:3 instructs to not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.
As you move forward with your day, pay attention to your decisions, are you choosing being right over being kind? Today’s scripture is a reminder that as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder to not let kindness and truth leave me. I pray that all your children do not let kindness and truth leave them. That they remember that as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, that they clothe themselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen!
