What you say and do
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)- Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Entering into new endeavors, starting a new relationship, starting a new home or work project, or doing something you have never done before is sometimes scary. You are entering the unknown, which I sometimes refer to as an "uncomfortable zone." As I reflect on the number of times I have entered the unknown without overthinking, I realizing that these experiences have been critical to my growth. These events and moments were pivotal in defining who I am today.
Today's verse reminds us to commit to the Lord whatever we do, and he will establish our plans. I recall hearing from a mentor, commit whatever you say, do, and think to the Lord first and your path will remain straight. Sounds pretty easy right? I can attest that it is not. Fear, doubt, unease, "control factors" shows up frequently when we commit it all to the Lord.
I encourage you today to look at ways you are not committing what you say, do and think to the Lord. If you find that it is hard, consider today's verse. Which plan do you think will succeed? Be encouraged, it is okay to let go and let God have his way.
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder to commit not somethings, but all that I do to you and you will establish my plans. You are the master planner and your way, your plans are perfect. I pray that all your children trust this reminder to commit all to you. That they don't allow fear of the unknown to get in the way of what they say, do and think. I ask this in your son Jesus's name. Amen!
