Exodus 12:1-2 (NIV) - The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.
I know many people are thinking, the year is already over. Where did time go? What did I accomplish this year? I only met two of my fifteen things I put on my vision board. Oh well, I guess I will do better next year. I say, the year is not yet over. You have 31 more days to meet a few more goals you set out to achieve. You have time to mend a few broken things you set out to mend this year. Don’t give up. Finish the year strong, so you can start next year stronger.
Sometimes we stop just before we see God’s best. We arrive at the finish line and give up before stepping over. Have faith, trust that God can help you accomplish a bit more this year. He will help you cross the finish line. We serve a faithful God. In Exodus, God delivered the Israelites from bondage at an unusual time. If he did it then, he can do it now. It only requires your faith.
Today’s verse is a reminder that the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. I encourage you to look at this last month as your first month of the year. As an opportunity for new beginnings to gather the faith to finish the year strong. It’s not over! I encourage you to read Exodus 12.
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder of the words you spoke to Moses and Aaron. For the reminder that it is not over until you say it is so. For the encouragement that this last month can be treated as my first. I pray that all your children do not give up on what they set out to accomplish this year. That they have enough faith to finish the year strong and realize the year is not yet over. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen
