Gratitude Day #19
Verses for today: Exodus 35:35 and 1 Timothy 4:4-5
Today I am happy and grateful for creativity. We are created to create. When was the last time you sat for a couple hours and allowed yourself to play with colors and colored a drawing in a coloring book or painted a portrait your way even if you were given a template. Can you recall that experience? To have no barriers, limits, or doubts on what you would create. You just got started and let things flow.
My friend Asha recently held a coloring and affirmation event. I attended and gave myself permission to sit for two hours, disconnect and finish coloring the drawing from start to finish. The drawing was the phrase “You Are Enough.” It was a pleasant and personally rewarding experience.
Mary Lou Cook describes creativity as inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun." Today, be intentional and take a creativity break. Whether you color in a coloring book (if you have kids or grandkids, their age is insignificant, invite them to join you in this activity), paint a portrait, write a new poem, design something, create a new recipe for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, or redesign a favorite space in your home. Intentionally take time to let your creativity flow.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Learn it. Live it. Lead it.
