Psalm 119:2-3 (NIV)- Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—they do no wrong but follow his ways.
With the influx of social media we are all inundated with requests to follow and like many people, pages and things. It is so overwhelming at times even deciding if you want to or should follow this person, product or place. We are often distracted by all the "noise" and forget what should go first. Trying to prioritize who or what will be most beneficial for you can be daunting. I wonder, are we prioritizing urgency or importance? Which should be first?
Sometimes the things we seek and pray for are delayed because we are prioritizing and following the wrong direction or guidance? With so many things, people and responsibilities clamoring for our attention prioritizing is not easy. Today's verse seems to provide the formula for receiving blessings. This seems simple enough, keep God's statutes, seek him with all your heart, do no wrong and follow his ways. Keep God first.
To me this means connect with God first daily, being obedient to his word and submitting and surrendering to his will for me. Does this sound easy? By no means as we all know some of the things we are asked to do seem impossible. However, today's verse assures us that we are blessed when we keep God's statutes, seek him with all our hearts, do no wrong and follow his ways. Keep first things first. I encourage you today to reflect on psalm 119:2-3. What does this mean to you?
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder that seeking you, following you, and doing no wrong is the key to blessings. To keep you first and as the priority in my life. I pray that all your children remember that your laws and decrees provide them with the perfect path to you, eternal joy and many blessings. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen!
