Psalm 147:3 (NIV) - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds
Dealing with pain day in and day out is not easy. It is the one thing we avoid as humans. We often try to cover the pain, put a smile over it, bury the pain, pretend it is not happening or even run away from the pain.
I am reading a book entitled- The Key To Everything by Matt Keller. Mr. Keller discusses that all the tactics we use to avoid or refuse to deal with pain is hardly the healthy choice. He adds that unprocessed pain cuts short our joy, our relationships, our careers, and even potentially our lives. He ends the chapter with this statement: “Anyone who has ever stalled out, burned out, or flakes out has done so because of some pain in their life that was ignored or denied.”
Today’s scripture is a reminder that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He will wipe every tear from your eyes. If you are ignoring your pain, ask God to help you deal with the pain in a healthy way. He will wipe every tear, he will heal your broken-heart and bind your wounds.
Dear God,
Thank you for the reminder that you heal broken-hearts and bind up wounds. I pray that all your children turn to you to deal with their pain in a healthy way. That they trust you will heal their broken heart and bind their wounds. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen!
