Good morning
"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw
Genesis 1:27 - "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
I recently attended a networking meeting and met a very interesting woman who caught my attention. After the meeting, we engaged in conversation. She indicated that she loved to write - that writing brought out her creativity. She also shared that her ten-year-old daughter just became an author. She created a story about two sisters in Africa and was inspired to publish this story into a book.
As I left the meeting, I thought, "Wow, we are all truly created to create." The greatest creator created us in His likeness, in his image to do the same. I thought, a ten-year-old figured that out early. Actually, from our birth, we are all created with the innate ability to create. However, somewhere along our journey called life, we lose our way and forget this truth, "We’ve been made in the image and likeness of God."
I wonder what stops us from fully tapping into our creativity? Is it that we don’t believe we have the ability? Is it that, as we grow older, we are exposed to sin and feel unworthy? Today, I encourage each of you to tap into your God-given creativity, your gift. No matter your age, if you have been thinking about creating something create it now. If you have been thinking about starting something, start working on it today. We are God's good work, made in God's image, part of God's family. What will you create today?
Dear God,
Thank you for creating me in your own image, for giving me the greatest gift of spirit within to help me be creative. To help me remember that, even if I sin, I should not allow that to block my creativity. Your son already paid the price. I pray that all your children remember that they were created to create and are members of your family. I ask this in your son Jesus' name. Amen!
