The carousel of life may have its ups and downs, but it’s still a great ride.

Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)- see, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland

Life is definitely full of ups and downs, would you agree? Some make it through several good rounds before hitting down. Others only make it around once on a high note then hit down for some time. Consider those artist called “one hit wonders.”
A friend recently shared his memory of a Charlie Brown and Lucy conversation. (Do you remember Charlie Brown cartoons?) “Charlie Brown complained to Lucy that his ball team loss all the time. Lucy replied, Charlie Brown, you learn more from your defeats than you do from your victories. Charlie Brown replied, that must make me the smartest man in the world!” That made me chuckle. Hope it make you chuckle too.

How do you handle life’s ups and downs? Do you just chalk it up as one great ride or remain stuck on the down part of the ride? Imagine just taking life as a carousel ride, enjoy it all, the ups and downs. Not allowing yourself to get stuck on the down portion of the round. Today’s scripture is a reminder; see, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Dear Father,
Thank you for the reminder that you are doing a new thing! You are making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. I pray that all your children remember that you are doing a new thing. That you are making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. That life is still a great ride in the ups and in the downs. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen!
