No Greater Love

"A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities." -William Arthur Ward

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV)
Have you ever been in a situation where you tried to tell or show someone that they are loved or you love them more than anything in this world and they simply did not believe you? You jumped over hurdles, skydive (although you are afraid of heights) and possible trained with them for a marathon, even though you were not participating in the race and they simply did not get it. That you did it all for the unconditional love you have for them.
Today's verse, in my view, is the greatest verse in the Bible. It sums up the Bible and the love that God has for each of us. There is no sin that can change this love. Whenever I am in doubt, I simply reflect on this verse and it reminds me of the great love that God has for us. No one or nothing can change this.
God loves us so much, he wants us to come to Him just as we are. He wants to have a personal relationship with us and longs for us to talk to Him freely about our sins and our needs. This relationship should be just as going to your best friend. Speak truthfully, open and honest with God and he will always respond with love. The is no greater love.
Dear God,
Thank you for giving your one and only Son, that whoever believes in you shall not perish but have eternal life. Today I pray that we all simply remember this, God loves us just the way we are. I ask this all in your son's Jesus name. Amen.
