Let there be peace

Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.” - Wayne Dyer

Romans 12:18- If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

There’s a song that says, “Let there be peace on earth…and let it begin with me.” This song reminds us in its lyrics that peace was meant to be. That with God as our father, we are all brothers and sisters and we should walk in harmony with each other. The song ends by reminding us to take each moment, and live each moment in peace eternally, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

It is easy to forget that one person can be the catalyst for peace. That one person can be you. Sometimes because we don’t have inner peace, we walk around with guilt, or we have insecurities, we are not able to tap into the peace that is ours to have. Instead we stew about everything that is said or done to or around us. I find that letting go of un-beneficial thoughts is one way to find peace. I saw a quote recently that said “Letting go is hard but holding on is harder.” Which will you chose today?

Today’s verse is a reminder that If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. I encourage you today to search for peace and work to maintain it every day of your life. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with you. May peace be with you.

Dear God,

Thank you for the reminder that as far as it depends on me, live at peace with everyone. I pray that all your children remember that peace begins with each of them. That they can be the single catalyst to bring peace. I ask this in your son Jesus’ name. Amen!
