Against All Odds

“Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do.” - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Romans 4:18 (TPT)- Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations. God’s declaration over him came to pass:“Your descendants will be so many that they will be impossible to count!

Have you ever faced a situation where all odds were against you? I recently had a conversation with a dear friend. He was about to throw in the towel on his dream. Actually, I stand corrected, he was about to throw in the towel on his purpose. We talked many times and I believed the vision God gave him. He, however, temporarily lost sight of the audacious purpose that God had placed on his life.

He forgot that sometimes to fulfill your purpose, you must come against all odds. That you cannot continue to be comfortable in thinking small. That our Father’ calling for us is to think and dream BIG. That the steps he gave us are simple and not so easy to follow. Those steps I simplified as 1-Give God your first (of everything), 2- Obey God’s every word, then 3- Trust. Simple right, not. (LOL)

Sometimes you say you believe and trust and you still choose to disobey when the odds are against you. I remind you, we are all descendants of Abraham. The odds were against Abraham and Sarah to conceive. Against all odds, Abraham continued to believe God’s Word and remain expectant for that promise to be fulfilled way into his senior years.

As long as you are doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do, keep trusting. When you reach a point were it looks like all odds are against you, trust more than ever before. This is where God does his best work. Surrender all control and let God fulfill his promises to you as his child.

Today’s verse is a reminder, “Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations. God’s declaration over him came to pass: “Your descendants will be so many that they will be impossible to count!” Don’t give up. The odds, no matter how slim, are in your favor. Keep trusting!

Dear Father,

Thank you for the reminder of my lineage. No matter what the odds say, you never break your promises. That I must remain expectant that you will fulfill your promises. I pray that all your children remember their lineage. That this reminder of their lineage will provide them assurance that no matter the odds, to continue to give you their first, obey and trust you to fulfill the promises you made to each of them. I ask this in your son Jesus’s name. Amen!

No te rindas.
